Procedure
1. Cut the sponge into thin, long pieces to create a boom.
2. Poor 25 mL of dish soap into the oil spill and stir it around with the spoon to stimulate ocean currents.
3. Wait 2 minutes and then use the sponge boom to 'sweep' or 'push' all of the oil to one side of the washbasin.
4. Place the cotton balls in between the sponge boom and the wall of the washbasin to absorb the oil.
5. Take out the cotton balls and remove the sponge boom.
6. Ring out the sponge boom and re-use it to 'sweep' or 'push' to the side of the washbasin again.
7. Use a spoon to remove as much oil as possible without taking the water out.
8. Repeat step 6 and 7 two times.
9. Ring out the sponge one last time and use it to absorb the last droplets of oil.
10. Clean up your experiment and you're done!
