Procedure
1 .Place 2 eggs in the same beaker (250 ml beaker). Pour 100 ml of vinegar to cover the eggs completely. Leave in refrigerator for 24 hours.
2. Remove eggs after 24 hours and take out of the beaker carefully (They will be very delicate so handle carefully). Observe both egg's appearances and record in a data table.
3. Weigh each egg and record the results in a data table labeled: Mass of Eggs Before and After.
4. Pour 150 ml of red water into a beaker and do the same with the corn syrup. Label each beaker. Record the volume of each substance and record it in a data table labeled: Volume of Liquid in Beaker Before and After.
5. Place egg number 1 in the beaker with red water (DO NOT mix the eggs up!). Place egg number 2 in the beaker with corn syrup.
6. Refrigerate both eggs in their beakers for 24 hours.
7. Remove the eggs from the beaker after 24 hours has elapsed.
8. Observe the appearance of both eggs and record it in the first data table.
9. Weigh the eggs again and record the results in the second data table.
10. Measure the volume of the left over liquid in the beaker and record the results in the 3rd data table.
11. Carefully pop the egg's membrane using a toothpick and observe your observations in the first data table.
